Candidate for president of the United States, director, producer, writer, comedian, and American actress, Roseanne Cherrie Barr is considered to be one of the most gifted female comedians on the planet. From her early childhood in Salt Lake City, Utah, to her early standup comedian acts of the early 1980s, to sitcoms, talk shows, films and books, Roseanne Barr is one person that can say that she really has done at all. The Early Life of Roseanne Barr

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to parents that were children of Russian immigrants of the Ukraine, Roseanne Barr spent much of her childhood trying to figure out whether she was Jewish, Christian, or Mormon. Later in life in her comedic days, she makes reference to this in a number of her standup routines. She got her first taste of the public stage at the age of six. This is where she began lecturing LDS churches in and around the Utah area. In fact, she was so good with communication in her Mormon youth group - she was eventually elected class president.

After being hit by a car, severely injured, and institutionalized because of the behavioral change due to a traumatic brain injury, after recovering, she eventually left Utah at the age of 18. Her parents had stated that her reason for leaving was to visit a friend in Colorado for two weeks; however, she never returned. After doing a number of standup comedy clubs in Denver, she moved her act to Los Angeles where she spent a little time in The Comedy Store. In 1985 after being recognized as a well rounded performer, she also landed appearances on the David Letterman and the Tonight Show.



After earning an American Comedy Award, Roseanne Barr was offered a number of different roles on TV sitcoms. Although turning many of them down, she eventually decided to go with her own series called the Roseanne Show. After many rave reviews from a variety of different critics, she went on to win an Emmy, three American Comedy Awards, a Golden Globe, and quite pleasantly a Kid's Choice Award. Between 2005 and 2010, Roseanne Barr has made a number of guest appearances on television, and she's even returned to standup comedy for a few different stints. However, what has really shocked a number of her fans is the fact that she has announced her candidacy for the 2012 presidential election.

Her Campaign for Presidency

Even Jay Leno of the Tonight Show wasn't prepared to hear that Roseanne Barr, his guest, would announce her candidacy. Not only is she prepared to campaign for President of the United States under the Green Tea Party Ticket, she has also confirmed that securing the position of Prime Minister of Israel will not be a bad idea either. All of these decisions have come at a time where Roseanne Barr feels that she needs to be extremely supportive of women being involved in religion and politics. She has also been very much involved in the occupy Wall Street protests that have taken place, as well as being extremely educated on the issues that surround each and every one of these circumstances.

So, Roseanne Barr is not only a comedian, actress, writer, producer, or director, she is also a political opponent, a person that fights for women's rights, and an individual that is extremely knowledgeable about women in religion. Ms. Barr is also a loving mother of 5 wonderful children, and has always considered her kids as the most important aspect of her life. As of recent, because of her extreme commitment to comedy and the many other aspects of her professional life, her colleagues felt that it was time that she would be the next comedic celebrity to be roasted.
